There are times when it seems the muses left me and I don't make any steps forward but backwards. Time for new experiments! New medium, new painting surfaces, whatever with the motto: take what you have, let it flow, let it go, play around! That's how I find the freedom of expression again and sometimes even make new discoveries about myself...
I always wanted to try painting on the synthetic paper (polypropylene) and found the Lanavanguard painting surface made by YUPO. Water and pigments don't sink into the "paper", the puddles just swim on the surface and you need to give them time to evaporate. In the meantime, they do their thing... odd shapes, interesting patterns...! If you like the result, you can work at it further - however, your moist brush will wash out the previous colour layer. The good thing is, you can easily wash out parts or the whole painting. A fascinating playground! Some of my Yupo-paintings already made it to my Portfolio... here I show different effects only.
Found instructions for this easy-to-do technique in internet. So inspiring, as each "painting" is a total surprise. Smart solution for a greeting card maybe...?
And these are so easy you could create them together with your kids or grandchildren. Fascination guarenteed!
This ancient medium can be used in a modern way... the principle stays the same: beeswax + pigments + heat. So far, I have made greeting cards only. One more medium with lots of
Always loved graphics, and noticed I could do linocut prints at home - using water soluble printing inks and printing by hand! So I checked a couple of YouTube videos, bought some
tools and suitable paper and simply started! Here the first experiments. So much fun!
