Creative experiments going on...

There are  times when it seems the muses left me and I don't make any steps forward but backwards. The harder i try, the more I fail in expressing myself.

Time for new experiments! New medium, new painting surfaces, whatever with the motto: take what you have, let it flow, let it go, play around! That's how I find the freedom of expression  again and sometimes even make new discoveries about myself...

Here some of my experiments with different techniques.

Testing synthetic "paper" Lanavanguard & watercolour

I always wanted to try YUPO synthetic painting surface - unfortunately it's really hard to get it in Europe. Instead, I found a substitute, the Lanavanguard synthetic "paper" and started experimenting. The thing is, the water and pigments don't sink into the "paper", as this is a synthetic material. The puddles just swim on the surface and you need to give them time to evaporate. In the meantime, the pigments do their thing... odd shapes, interesting patterns...! If you like the result, you can work at it further - the only problem is, your moist brush will easily wash out the previous colour layers. The good thing is, you can easily wash out parts or the whole painting! A welcome playground for control freaks...

Experimenting with String technique & watercolour...

Found instructions for this easy-to-do technique in internet. so inspiring, as each "painting" is a total surprise! smart solution for a greeting card maybe...?
